Information technology is revolutionizing products. Once composed solely of mechanical and electrical parts, products have become complex systems that combine hardware, sensors, data storage, microprocessors, software, and connectivity in myriad ways. Smart, connected products raise a new set of strategic choices related to how value is created and captured, how the prodigious amount of new (and sensitive) data they generate is utilized and managed.

Creo REALM platform includes network communications components to support connectivity, product cloud containing the product-data database, a platform for building software applications, a rules engine and analytics platform. Cutting across all the layers is an identity and security structure, a gateway for accessing external data, and tools that connect the data from smart, connected products to other business systems (for example, ERP and CRM systems).

REALM by Combining and analyzing data from connected devices to gain insights, opens up opportunities for companies to

  • innovate their business process
  • run smarter and leaner
  • deliver new value to their customers

REALM can be used for any industry that requires real time information. Build any kind of real time system using Realm's powerful offering of functional modules. Get the functionality you need now, with the freedom to seamlessly add on to your system and match your company's ever-growing needs. The key to Realm’s flexibility is its modular architecture, which means you can buy different modules to perfectly fit your company's requirements. The REALM Platform services are discussed in detail below

Data Collection Services

Sensors and sensor technology have come a long way, evolved into a global network of connected, intelligent devices. What is now known as the Internet of Things generates huge volumes of real-time sensor data events across a wide range of industries. Trends, patterns and exceptions must therefore be identified and acted upon immediately, even where the data are arriving from many different sensor types and locations, collection channels and data formats.

Creo REALM offers various data collection solutions including collectors close to the source and gateway for consolidation. Realm is designed to scale from the simple system that run on a single CPU server, or deploy your applications for an entire enterprise running on multiprocessor servers. Realm takes full advantage of Symmetric Multiprocessing and IT Server & Web infrastructures.

Data Processing Services

REALM data processing combines and correlates all sensor data sources in real-time. Failures, exceptions, service level breaches, network congestion and business exceptions and security incidents will be identified in real-time, enabling them to be responded to immediately. Geospatial analytics to identify problems in space and time simultaneously. Many business problems root cause analysis require analysis and correlation not just across multiple sites, but also an understanding of the physical equipment locations.

Real-time monitoring data on product condition and product control capability enables firms to optimize service by performing preventative maintenance when failure is imminent and accomplishing repairs remotely, thereby reducing product downtime and the need to dispatch repair personnel.

Data Archiving Services

Real time applications and Platforms generates huge volumes of data. The traditional archiving and backup solutions can’t offer active archived data. Creo REALM Archive function provides warm (rather than cold backups) data repository of structured and un-structured data enabling Business Intelligence (BI) and visualization tools to readily access archived data for analytics.

Creo REALM Archive function is offered as an appliance with all the software and support to manage large volume of data. It includes a web viewer to to search and view archive data. The archive data can be retrieved by client applications using standard API.

REALM adopts decentralized distributed architecture to support the parallel processing of archive data. The parallel computing model behind Realm has good scalability and the processing performance increases in linear progression as the number of processing nodes increases.
